Worth knowing
- Insurers must offer uninsured motorist coverage at limits matching your liability. Declining it requires a signed written waiver.
- California prohibits insurers from using credit history to rate auto insurance.
- Policies written before 2025 may still show the old 15/30/5 limits. Check your declarations page.
- The Insurance Research Council estimates roughly one in six California drivers is uninsured.
